Church Covenant
By God’s grace alone, we are gathered as a church family. We believe that God has spoken to us through Scripture alone and has made us alive through the truth of the gospel. We are redeemed through faith alone in the sufficient sacrifice of Jesus Christ alone. God has gathered us here for His glory alone.
We are a family of citizens in the Kingdom of God who live in a covenant relationship with Him. We have died to our sin and have been raised to new life in Christ. We have proclaimed this reality in baptism, and we remember His covenant in the Lord’s Supper.
We commit together as a local church family to embrace the mission of Springs of Grace Baptist Church to pursue the glory of God, the good of the Church, and the growth of the Kingdom in all that we do.
We embrace the vision to see the Kingdom of God in Shreveport as it is in heaven.
We will love the Bible. We will search the Scriptures with biblical vigor. It is the very Word of God, the final authority in our lives and in this world. We will sit under the teaching of the Bible.
We will be united. We are individual believers, but one body. We will show off the wisdom of God through beautiful diversity. We will embrace God’s good design in diversity while working and praying for unity in the bond of peace.
We will cling to eternity. Our hope is in heaven. We have an eternal mindset as citizens of a Kingdom that cannot be shaken. We will proclaim the excellencies of that Kingdom and commit to advance it in our city.
We will live life together. We will laugh together, cry together, serve together, and worship together. We will be a vital community of believers, knowing we need each other and demonstrating Christlike love. We will regularly attend church gatherings and pray for each other.
We will walk in humble confidence. We will not be arrogant or insecure. We will walk both humbly and boldly as disciples of Jesus Christ. We will strive to lead godly lives and resist temptation to sin.
This is our family. This is our covenant. May the springs of Christ’s perfect grace always satisfy us. May the love of the Father multiply in us. May the Holy Spirit guide us . . . until He returns or calls us home. Amen.
